Iola Winter Carnival

The  Iola Winter Carnival will be held on the first weekend in February.

Held the 1st weekend in February.

Friday – Fat Tire Bike Race, 6pm Iola Winters sports Club on the lighted ski trails.

Saturday, — Ice Sculpture will take place at Iola-Scandinavia High School beginning at 8:00 a.m.

9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Ice Fishing Contest on Lake Iola for ages 16 and under.

Norwegian Lutefisk Dinner, 1 pm – 6:00 pm.  Serving Lutefisk and fresh cod with drawn butter, meatballs, potatoes, vegetable, lefse and Norwegian pastries. Served family style.  Indoor Craft Sale.   Located at Iola-Scandinavia High School on south Jackson Street.

At the Iola Winter Sports Club Friday night there will be a Fat Bike Race at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday afternoon, 1:00 p.m.  Skijoring with a dog in a 3K event.

At 6:00 p.m. the Iola Twilight Snowshoe Racing will start with, 5K, 10K, & Kid’s 800m.

On Sunday February 5th at 12:00 noon the Central USSA Ski Jumping event will take place.  Admission is charged for a souvenir button.  Food and refreshments will be available. All ski events are located at the Iola Ski Jumping Complex located at E398 County Rd. MM—five miles northwest of the Village of Iola.

There is a raffle during the weekend that is sponsored by Iola Lions, American Legion Post 14 and the Iola Winter Sports Club.  Prizes being offered include $1,000, $500, $350, $250, 8 – $100.00 cash prizes and numerous merchandise prizes.  Drawing will take place Sunday, February 7th and winners need not be present to win.
